Random Song Highlight Episode #2

·

This next song has a lot of history. Coming in at #2, we’ve got C-Murder, Snoop Dogg and Mr. Magic from No Limit with Down 4 My N’s! You hear this song come on and you best believe there’s going to be trouble. Well, at least that’s what I’ve read. But I don’t doubt it one bit. For any fans of rap and with a good ear for good beats and instrumentals, all it takes is one listen to this song, and you know it’s going down in the hall of fame. Couple that with the lyrics, and you can tell them boys were up to no good. 🤬

From what I’ve gathered, the song was aimed at Death Row records. When Snoop Dogg joined No Limit Records, a label founded by Master P, the crew held Snoop Dogg down due to whatever controversy he had at the time with the label and/or Suge Knight. Ironically though, Snoop’s verse was quite weak compared to C-Murder and Mr. Magic. But there apparently is a explanation for that. According to Beats by the Pound, the crew that produced many of No Limit Records instrumentals, frontman KLC explained that Snoop’s initial verse for the song was just too damn disrespectful. Quite literally lives would be lost because of it. Therefore, Snoop had to tone it down.

Regardless of all that, this song deserves to live on the Internet till the end of time. I was dying of laughter when I read the comments about how fortunate it was that Silk the Shocker wasn’t on this track! 🤣 🤣 🤣

One of the most hardest instrumentals ever
