You know that feeling you get when watching a television show or anime, and you just can’t get the theme song out of your head? You know, the one that you rarely skip over in the intro or ending because the song is just that damn good? The one where you’re thinking that had the producers chosen any other song, it likely wouldn’t have worked as well? While I’m no longer watching as much anime as I used to, I still check out the release schedule from time to time to see if any catch my attention. Fortunately for me, a nostalgic remake of a popular 90s anime series introduced me to one of the more addictive theme songs I’ve heard in a long while.

Coming in at #5, I present to you Tombi by Kvi Baba. Trigun was a really weird, wacky and fun anime. The 2023 remake introduces newcomers to Vash the Stampede. While I can’t definitively say that this remake is better than the original, what I can say 100% is that this theme song is near GOAT status. It’s right up there along with some of the Bleach and Naruto opening/ending theme songs. It just matches the anime so damn well. Furthermore, it’s so good that someone actually laid the track over the original anime version, and it hilariously works just as well!
