This is likely to be one of the worst movies I’ve watched in 2024. It’s movies like these that always make me wonder, would it have been better if they’d just used the money to produce this garbage to help feed the homeless or donate it to charity instead? The story is god-awful, the writing is horrendous, the acting is subpar, and it sure as hell isn’t going to make anyone watch it twice nor discuss it afterward. Just awful all around, and if it wasn’t for Anthony Mackie, I likely wouldn’t even have given this a chance. Turns out he’s one of the producers of this movie, so shame on him. Like seriously, 2024 is about to end. How do movies like Elevation continue to get greenlighted?

I had a feeling this would turn out bad literally as soon as the movie started. A very quick and brief audio only described the horror of how people were safe from the terrors of these monsters with which no bullets can stop at only 8,000 feet while immediately cutting over to “3 years later” had me feeling like this would be one of “those” movies. Does the story make sense? I mean, sure? A man’s kid is dying unless he gets more medical equipment. Of course, getting said equipment involves venturing out into dangerous territory. Very original. 🙄
Is there supposed to be a part two to this movie later on? They never figured out why the monsters could never get higher than 8,000 feet elevation in the end. Oh, they discovered what the monsters were. I’ll save you an hour and thirty minutes of your life by spoiling it: they were machines. Yes, they were machines living under the earth; somehow they got the signal to tunnel up and destroy mankind without any reason or explanation. Like seriously, who the fuck comes up with this kind of shit?! It’s also movies like these where it starts to make so much sense when filmmakers are just buying the rights to popular novels and turning them into feature films. Obviously, some of the creative minds in Hollywood just aren’t cutting it anymore if this is the kind of movie we get. I honestly don’t have many good things to say about this movie other than that some of the outdoor scenery shots looked very good.
