Not a very interesting mini-murder series. However, I’m usually down to watch some foreign films or series. And yes, one must watch them in their native language audio. Subs over dubs, as the saying goes. At only six episodes of about 40 minutes each, spanning two different mysteries, it was a quick binge. The problem is that they’re not what I’d label as intriguing mysteries that glue you to your seat.

I don’t have any issues with the cast for the most part. The series stars Carla Sehn as Hannah Ahlander and Kardo Razzazi as Daniel (seems like the series rarely mentions his last name). Hannah plays the typical troubled detective who lets her work consume the better part of her life, while Daniel plays the typical detective who works long hours and, as a result, has troubles at home and with his marriage. At this point, it’s not even surprising how overplayed these detective roles are, but whatever, it’s only six episodes.

So on to the mysteries. Four of the episodes are dedicated to the murder of a teenager named Amanda, and the last two are focused on Johan, a young entrepreneur. Both are just a bit underwhelming. In between them, we see the relationship between Hannah and Daniel slowly develop. I do like how this doesn’t feel too forced. The overall series does have a more sober undertone; it’s likely due to the location and snow. Hannah is especially melancholy throughout the series. Anyway, not much more I have to say about this series. If season two does come, I can’t say that it will be a 100% hard pass for me. The serious tone of the series and characters is something I like to see more of in a detective series, and for that alone, I’m willing to continue and see what they cook up next. I especially liked how things ended between Daniel and Hannah at the end.
