Hey, I’m not going to even deny that this wasn’t a pretty fun movie. I remember accidentally watching a bit of the trailer one day and admitted it was pretty weird and spooky enough to get it on my to-watch list. A man coming out of your television screen to snatch away kids? It might be a rehash of some other old movie, but nothing comes to mind. It did, however, take me around three viewing sessions to complete the movie.

So color me shocked. I did not go in expecting that much gore! The way it’s filmed is hilarious, actually, but there is a lot of gore in a couple of the scenes. I also have to admit that the beginning scene was damn creepy, where Mr. Crocket shows up with his friends to subdue the man. There was something in how the scene was shot along with the colors that made it creepier than it had any right to be, but I loved it. Did it feel low budget and cheap? Sort of. But for some reason, it worked?

Nice try Mr. Crocket but you ain’t gonna replace our boy Weasel any time soon 🤣
As to the rest of the movie itself, it wasn’t too bad. The theme of a mysterious figure coming to take away kids who’ve got it rough with their parents can be relatable to many. They could have made Mr. Crocket sort of like an anti-villain, but that went out the window once he started going nuts on the killing. Other than that, not bad for a movie if you’ve got nothing better to watch and are up for a weird horror movie. Oh, and that damn song is actually quite stuck in my mind. “A friend like you, is a friend like me….” 😂
