Clown in a Cornfield – Movie

·

I mean sure, why not? If killer clowns can make it to outer space, why not in a simple cornfield? It does have bold red letters telling me it’s produced by the producers of Smile and directed by people who did Tucker & Dale vs. Evil. But is it likely going to be one of those one-in-a-million types of slasher films where a bunch of teenagers or adults get picked off one by one when they’re alone? You know, the ones where there’s usually a prankster or asshole of the group, the jock, the mysterious one, and the one that is supposedly the best looking out of the bunch that everyone wants to date or is jealous of? Will it be “that” kind of movie?

Yes, Clown in a Cornfield definitely is that type of movie. 🤣 🤣 Like how many times must we see the prankster of the group get killed because he or she initially thought that a friend was trying to get even with them, only to meet a horrific end? But you know what? Sometimes, we need movies like these. Taken in sporadic doses, they can be quite fun if done correctly.

Quite literally the best scene in the movie! It came so unexpectedly! 🤣 🤣 🤣

So the movie was quite average until the one-hour mark or so. They decided then to really crank up the comedy. I’d say that genuinely made the movie that much better until the ending. The injection of comedy caught me off guard as it was fairly mellow up until that point. One of the scenes had me laughing for real. Regarding the clowns, once they decided to reveal that there was more than one, I think it was quite obvious for the audience to deduce who they were. The only thing left was to discover why. My initial assumption was wrong. You know, as a millennial, this kind of hit too close to home for comfort. 😂 😂 Time is forever moving forward and thanks to this movie, it’s a reminder of my age. 😅
