Here’s one pretty inevitable fact: you can’t call yourself horror a movie fan if you don’t enjoy self punishment. I’d really like to know the ratio of good horror movies to bad ones because it seems unfair. How is that so many horrible horror movies are made compared to the good ones? Heck, they don’t even have to be that good, just at least serviceable.

The Well initially had a good start. Now, when I say initially, I really mean initially. It wasn’t until only the 10 or 15 minute mark that what I had hope was at least a B+/B- movie went to the wayside. That scene in the forest highlighted how horrible the supporting actors and actresses were. I then had a feeling that the movie would eventually spiral down to at least C- to even D level. It apparently seems like they spent the most time and money on the horror props and bloody scenes because clearly they couldn’t hire non-cringe actors. It felt and looked so odd because certain parts of the movie looked at least professionally shot and produced but in other scenes, it felt as if they quickly switched production and camera crew and shot those scenes of what looks like your usual “straight to DVD release” crap movies you’ve likely never heard of.
I knew I’ve seen the actress playing Lisa Grey somewhere. Turns out she’s none other than Lauren LaVera, best known for playing the lead role in what seems to now be turning into a cult classic movie series, Terrifier!
